Eric Barnes comes to us as the Head Coach for the Tucson Diving Team from the Starz Diving Club in Indianapolis, Indiana.

At Indianapolis Eric served as the Head Coach of The Rising Starz; an elite group of Junior Olympic athletes training for national as well as international competitions. The Rising Starz also feeds local talent into the USA Diving National Training Center. During his tenure from 2003 to 2008, Eric's athletes earned 52 Gold, 30 Silver, and 22 Bronze medals at national and international competitions.

Since 1998 athletes under Coach Barnes' instruction have garnered 20 Junior National Championship titles at both the spring and summer USA Diving Junior National Championship events.

Teams working consistently with Coach Barnes have finished in the top 10 in the nation at the Summer Junior Championships, with top honors earned at the 2002 West Junior Olympics Championships in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

In 2008 The Rising Starz Diving Club had its highest finish ever at a Summer Junior Championship, placing 3rd overall.

In 2005 and 2008 Eric was named as a Team USA delegation coach for the UANA Junior Pan-American Diving Championships.

In addition to coaching, Eric has been selected to judge at national and international competitions including the 2008 US Olympic Trials, 2008 NCAA Championships, 2008 FINA USA Grand Prix and the 2008 FINA World Series of Diving.

Eric is a certified diving official for FINA since 2007.

Eric and his wife Kelli live in Tucson, Arizona with Oliver, their cat who enjoys riding bikes and hiking.
